2 Delicious Meatball Recipes to Try at Home

Nowadays people can experiment with a lot of different dishes. They can take one traditional recipe and change it a little by adding extra ingredients to the recipe, or substituting some of the original ingredients with other ones. This way a lot of delicious and interesting combinations can be created which can appeal to a lot of people.

Today we have prepared for some such kind of recipes with one main ingredient which can be cooked in different ways with different other ingredients. Here are a couple of main course recipes with meatballs.

#1 Cheese meatball bake

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of Italian sausage

2 eggs

1 cup of milk

1 jar of marinara

2 cups of mozzarella
4 cloves of garlic

1 cup of bread crumbs
½ cup of chopped parsley
½ cup of Parmesan
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of black pepper

Directions:

Step1

First you need to prepare the mix for the meatballs. You need to get a big bowl and to put in it the ground beef and the Italian sausage. Then get the garlic cloves and dice them thinly. Add them into the bowl with the ground beef and the sausage. Then you need to add the chopped parsley and the Parmesan. Season the ingredients with the salt and the pepper and stir the mixture a little.

Then you need to add the bread crumbs, the two eggs and the milk. Continue mixing all the ingredients in the bowl until it all turns into a homogeneous mixture for meatballs.

Step 2

Now you need to scrape a handful of the mixture and make a ball of it using your palms. Do the same with the rest of the mixture. Then get a non-stick pan and heat some olive oil on the bottom of it. Put a few meatballs in it and stir-fry them until they turn gray-brownish with some crust. Then flip them and stir-fry the other side of the meatballs. When all the meatballs are ready, you can move on to the next part of preparing the dish.

Step 3

Now you need to get a deep baking tin. Apply some amount of the marinara sauce on the bottom of the tin so it covers it. Then put the stir-fried meatballs on the bottom of the tin. You should not choose a tin which is too big, but one which will have space for all the meatballs to cover the bottom of the tin.

Then you need to apply the rest of the marinara sauce on top of the layer of meatballs. Apply it evenly on the meatballs. Then sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the marinara layer.

Step 4

When this is ready, you need to cover the baking tin with some aluminum foil and to bake it in the oven for 25 minutes at 220 0C. After this time passes, you can take the tin out of the oven and serve the dish while it is still warm. You can also garnish it with some fresh parsley. And voila, enjoy the dish!

#2 Swedish meatball pasta

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef

4 cups of egg noodles

1 cup of Parmesan

½ cup of chopped parsley

½ cup of breadcrumbs
½ cup of minced onion
1 egg

1 tablespoon of salt

1 tablespoon of black pepper

2 cups of beef broth

2 cups of milk

1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Step 1

First you need to get a big bowl and to put in it the ground beef. Then add in the bowl the breadcrumbs, the minced onion, the egg, half a tablespoon of salt and half a tablespoon of black pepper. Mix all of these ingredients well. You can also use your hands because the mixture is going to be a thick one.

Step 2

When the mixture is ready you need to make balls of it which need to be a handful big. After that heat some olive oil on the bottom of a pot and stir-fry the meatballs on each side for 1 minute. They need to turn brownish with some crust.

Step 3

Then without taking the balls out of the pot continue cooking them by adding the cups of beef broth into the pot. Then add the milk and season the mixture with the remaining half teaspoon of salt and half teaspoon of black pepper. Finally add the Worcestershire sauce. Stir the ingredients well and let the mixture start boiling.

Step 4

When this happens, add the egg noodles, stir the ingredients well once again and continue cooking the dish until the noodles are ready. Add the Parmesan and the chopped parsley and stir all ingredients well once again. You can then take the pot off the hotplate. Serve the dish while it is still hot.
