It is easy to get a nice suntan in the summer, but it is not that easy to keep it. A month after your summer vacation you will no longer have the same suntan you had during it. Would you like to prolong the time you have natural suntan?

Today we are going to tell you how to do this. There are a couple of things you need to do and you will notice that your skin would not turn its natural complexion as fast as the way it has happened before. Check them out!

#1 Exfoliate

If you want to keep your suntan then you should not exfoliate your skin, but you should do it beforehand. The next time before you go to your summer vacation make sure you exfoliate your skin well paying special attention to the parts of your body you want to keep the tan longer. You only need to make sure that you are not using too aggressive exfoliators. After all you would not like to irritate your skin.

As you have probably heard, exfoliating in general is very good for your skin because this way you remove the dead skin cells and increase the blood flow. By exfoliating your skin before you sunbathe you will decrease the chance of your skin getting dry, you speed up the process of getting suntan and to keep it for a longer period of time.

#2 Hydration

It is very important to keep your skin well-hydrated if you want to have a beautiful summer tan. That is why you should not only drink a lot of water, but also use a lotion after sunbathing every time. It is important to keep your skin hydrated and this lotion would do a really good job. This way you will also protect your skin and keep it healthy.

You should also remember that every time you sunbathe you should apply sun cream even if you already have suntan and you are not afraid that you might burn. This will also serve as a long lasting technique for your suntan because it will not let your skin peel.

#3 Avoid waxing

If you are trying to keep your tan as long as possible, then you should avoid waxing and turn to some other way to remove hair from your body. You could shave your legs, use epilators, or depilatorycreams. They are all much better alternative than waxing. This is because when you are waxing you do not only remove the unwanted hairs, but you also remove some skin cells.

This is normally a good thing since you are removing dead skin cells, but not if you want to keep your skin which has a nice tanned complexion. So, you can wax before you go to the beach and after that use alternative methods.

#4 Use cleansing oil

Women who dye their hair know that the more often one washes their hair, the more their hair color changes. It is the same with your body and skin. If you have a nice tan and you wash your skin more than twice a day, you can be sure that within a week your tan will have gotten much plainer.

If you want to keep it for longer then you should think about the products you use to wash your skin with. It is best to stop using your favorite shower gel for some time and use instead cleansing oil. It will help protect your tan for a longer period especially compared with ordinary shower gels.

#5 Always remember

And last, but not least, some important information you should always remember when it comes to your skin. You should always keep it healthy by applying enough sun cream when it is very sunny no matter if you are on the beach, or if you are walking in the park.

You should also keep it well-hydrated from inside by drinking plenty of water. This way you will also prolong the healthy and youth life of your skin. And, of course, do not forget to have a healthy diet. There are a lot of natural foods, like apples and berries that will keep your skin healthy and strong.
