It is no wonder why people want to travel more and to experience the culture and the traditions of the country first handedly.

And if you have still not been to Thailand but intend to go there sometime in the near future, then it is better to be prepared for all the things that you will see and experience there. This way you can make your experience much more pleasant and smooth. We have prepared for you a short traveling guide for Thailand. Find out some of the very important and useful things you need to know before going there!

#1 Money

One of the first things that you need to have in mind before going to any country around the world is the currency that it has. The currency in Thailand is Thai baht. It is best to calculate the amount of money that you are going to need during your stay there.

Of course, you do not have to be too precise but you need to have more or less the money with you that you are going to need because there are not that many places you can pay by card there, so it is best to prepare some Thai baht in cash.

#2 Health

Another very important thing you should think about before planning your trip to Thailand is your health. As you probably know, or have heard, a different kind of climate can have an effect on your health. This means that it is best to boost your immune system before going to any country, especially some which is more exotic and in a different climatic zone.

You can do that by doing sports, having plenty of fruit and vegetables, and drinking a lot of water. You also should not forget to have extra vitamins, probably tablet ones, to make sure your health is protected.

Another very important thing that you should have in mind is the specific diseases typical for the region that you are planning to visit. If you plan to go to Thailand, you need to have some shots first a couple of months before going there. The ones that are recommended for this country are Typhoid, Malaria, and Japanese Encephalitis. It is better to be well prepared and not to regret later.

#3 When to go

The next thing you should consider before going to Thailand is the weather. Weather at the different parts of the world is specific. It could be rainy or too hot even if in your own country the weather is nice and hot. If you go to Thailand, you need to consider the weather conditions.

In fact, now it is the best time of the year there. From November to February the weather is warm and there are not many rains, so you should definitely consider this time of the year to go there.

On the other hand, if you prefer your vacation to be more affordable, then you could go during the rainy season. It is from May to October. The weather may not be at its best but the bills will be.

#4 Manners

Another very important thing you should know before going to some place around the world that you have never been to is the local customs and manners. Thai culture is quite different from the European or the American one, for example, and that is why one should know one of two things about it.

For example, a person needs to wear long sleeves and long pants before entering some religious temple. Too much bare skin at these places is considered very inappropriate. Another thing that you should have in mind is not taking photos of people unless you have asked for their permission.

#5 Restaurants and greetings

When you are at a restaurant you need to hold the fork with your left hand and the spoon with your right one. You should also help others by pouring them a drink and let them pour you a drink as well when you are sitting at the table.

When you are entering someone’s home you should always take your shoes off unless you are specifically required not to do it. And when it comes to greeting people you can either shake a Thai’s person hand, or you could greet them the traditional way – by pressing hands together and bowing slightly. This is a sign of respect and you can be sure any Thai person would appreciate a foreigner doing it.
