Nowadays everyone should know how to exfoliate their skin. You have heard about a lot of exfoliation techniques from a lot of people, but you still wonder this is the right one. A lot of people do not take into consideration their skin type. If you have sensitive skin, you should not treat it the same way as, for example, normal skin. In the end you may end up with more skin problems than in the beginning. So, you should take a lot of things into consideration before exfoliating your skin. Here is your complete exfoliation guide. If you follow the steps carefully, you will become an expert at exfoliating.

The simple truth

Most people think that exfoliants should always contain small and dry particles that remove dead skin cells from our skin. However, this is not true. These small particles in exfoliants just irritate our skin more and create small grazes. This just creates even more spaces where bacteria penetrate in and the pores become bigger. Let’s just say ,this is not the point of exfoliation.

Stick to gentle skin ingredients

The main rule in exfoliation is to avoid products with solid and sharp particles, especially natural ones like nutshells and apricot shells. These particles are so sharp that they can lead to a microscopic lacrimation of the skin which is not visible to the naked eye. You should do another thing instead: scrub your face with gentle and slow movements. Do not hurry, just relax and enjoy it. If you do not feel comfortable, then your skin won’t feel good also. Gently rub in soft exfoliation scrub around your nose, cheeks and chin. Massage your skin for about 3 minutes, then rinse your face until there are no particles left on your skin.

Avoid using loofah sponge

From all the things that are bad for your skin this is the worst. If you use them, you will just irritate your skin more, especially if your skin is sensitive in the first place. These sponges are favorable environment for all kinds of bacteria. Just imagine how millions of bacteria live there, in their small holes, and then you take the loofah sponge and put it on your face. Yes, it is a nightmare! This could lead to a rash, rasp and even infections. If you wonder what analogue to use, try with a konjac sponge. This is a natural and antibacterial sponge that is made from the roots of the konjac plant. It is so soft that you can use it every day, even in the delicate area under your eyes.
