If the almighty hair care gods didn’t grant you naturally curly hair, there is a simple solution to your problem. When women regularly wore pin curls in the 40’s, the look always evoked an elegant glamorous feel. While a little time-consuming, this style is easy to mimic!

Add a little leave-in conditioner on your ends and lengths of your hair. You can also invest in a special beach waves tousling spray to maximize volume and waves. Since you are about to use a heat styling straightener, it is very important to add a heat protection spray. This way your hair will be protected from split ends, breakage, dryness and lack of luster.

Step 1: Start with your hair nicely brushed to remove any knots or tangles. Use your fingers to guide your hair into a side part. Taking 1-2 inch section, roll hair around fingers into a curl, toward the face.

Step 2: While holding the curl, gently flat iron the curl off for about 3-5 seconds.

Step 3: Once you remove the flat iron, pin this section in place to let the curl cool.

Step 4: Following the same technique, continue sectioning all of your hair, curling it and pinning it.

Step 5: Allow the entire hair to cool and set for at least 10-15 minutes.

Step 6: Make sure you are not ruining the pins while you are waiting for them to cool.

Step 7: Gently remove all pins and allow the curls to fall naturally.

Step 8: To create soft waves and for your hairstyle to look more natural, comb though the curls to break them slightly. You may even flip your head and run fingers through your hair. Take a light hold hairspray and spray your bouncy curls.

Here is another amazing trick: adding a ribbon or a flower accessory on your hair will make it look softer and more feminine!
