If the almighty hair care gods didn’t grant you naturally curly hair, there is a simple solution to your problem. Creating the beachy waves hairstyle has never been more foolproof. Now all you need to do is to add several braids, run the hair straightener on top, release the braids and add hairspray. How exactly can you do that, you ask? Well, follow the steps below and find out!

Step 1: Divide your hair into two sections. Use clippers to separate the crown section away for now as this way you can deal with the bottom part of your hair first. Next, split the bottom section in half and start braiding each side. Braid the sections into the traditional three-strand method. When you reach the end, secure the braids with a clear rubber band.

Step 2: Unclip the top section and start braiding. Depending on how large or small you want your waves to be, you can choose how many braids to create.

Step 3: Now, take your hair straightener and heat up your braids. Passing a flat iron several times over the braid wills create those “effortless” looking waves seemingly effortlessly.

Step 4: Take one braid at a time and slowly move the straightener on top.

Step 5: Continue heating the other braids up.

Step 6: Use your fingers to gently press the braid between the hair straightener.

Step 7: Allow enough time for the braids to cool down before releasing them. Then, take out your braids to reveal your loose, messy waves.

Step 8: Flip your head and run fingers through your hair to gently break up some curls. This way your hairstyle will look more casual. You can add some hairspray all over your hairstyle to keep your waves in place longer. Next time you are looking for a new, fun beachy hairstyle, pull out your flat iron and get this amazing look in no time!
