Pretty, braided, boho hairstyles are a must for your tresses this season. In fact, boho looks are easy, low-maintenance styles for all ages. Follow this step-by-step pictorial on how to recreate this easy boho updo with a braid and you will be ready in a few minutes!

Step 1: Comb or brush it through to remove all major tangles. Whether you have fine, thick, long or short length hair, we all face the same problem: any slight knot risks make your hair difficult to style.

Step 2: To properly detangle your hair, comb out the ends first, and then detangle a few inches higher repeatedly until you’ve done your whole length.

Step 3: Once you have a tangle-free hair, use the tail end of a rat-tail comb to separate the hair as indicated on the pictures in this tutorial. Clip the crown sections away for now.

Step 4: Grab a small section from the bottom near your ear and make a French braid.

Step 5: For best looking side braids, try to make it as tight as possible.

Step 6: Stop braiding somewhere near the nape of your neck and secure with a small, clear rubber band.

Step 7: Release the crown section and start gathering it into a ponytail.

Step 8: Since you want to make a bun, try to loop the ponytail several times.

Step 9: To make your boho updo with more volume, aim for a messier look.

Step 10: Take the end of your ponytail and wrap it around the base of the pony to hide the elastic.

Step 11: Gently pull some hair pieces at the crown to add extra volume.

Step 12: Mist the style with a light hold hairspray and you’re done! Add a funky plaid shirt with jeans to complete your look.
