Eyeliner is such a major part of our beauty routine, and the perfect wing is the icing on the cake. We love a good beauty hack—and eyeliner is no exception. Although applying winged eyeliner requires a bit of patience and practice but if you follow the instructions, you can master the art of putting it perfectly. If your shaky hand is making your relationship with liner a difficult one, not to fear: it is time to master the winged eyeliner look in just a few simple steps.
Before you begin, use a primer on your eyelids with a shadow primer and put on a matte shadow shade that matches the colour of your skin. This is especially important as your lids won’t be so oily, which will prevent your makeup from ruining or spreading all over.
Step 1: Dip the angled brush in gel eyeliner and starting from the inner corner of your eyes towards the outer corner. It’s a two-hand job. Stand in front of a mirror and use your non-drawing hand to hold your eyelid taut. It is up to you if you want to make the line thick or more delicate.
Step 2: Once done, create a wing on your eyes but dotting on the eyelids. This way you can mimic how the wing would look, making it easier for you to make the perfect cat eye look.
Step 3: Join the dots and create a full flick towards outer corner. Do this by dipping the angled brush in the eyeliner gel. Then, gently follow the guidance you just created.
Step 4: Finally, apply mascara to wrap up the final look. If you have trouble creating symmetrical flicks on both eyes, simply tilt your chin up when you create the wing. By looking down at the mirror, you’ll have a clearer view of the flick you’re creating.
