Nowadays depression and stress and people’s constant companions. The modern-day society is always in a hurry and under a lot of pressure. That is where health problems come from as well. Unfortunately, this may also lead to depression and melancholy. At one point a person needs a break from all this and it is best if they really do it, otherwise there may be some serious health problems they face in the future.

One thing you need to remember when you choose a travel destination that will make you happy is to choose a sunny place. Sunlight is one of the best anti-stress and anti-depression methods. There are a lot of people that have heard of the Great Barrier Reef but it is still not one of the top places in their travel destinations list. Well, if you want to improve your mood and be happy again, then I definitely recommend visiting this great creation of nature. This is the greatest collection of corals in the world and it is so big that it could be seen from outer space.

It is a great place to go diving as well. The underwater world that you will see there is so beautiful that it is breathtaking. You will get the chance to see so much beauty and so many colors in one place that there would be just no way to feel sad again after that. You definitely need to visit it!

#2 The Virgin Islands

And since sunlight is one of the things that can make a person happy, the next place in our anti-sadness list is the Virgin Islands. It is a place with a lot of sunshine and great beaches.

You can spend your time there doing nothing but lying on the beach, sunbathing, and swimming in the crystal clear waters. You can also devote your time there on physical activities, like surfing, diving, and swimming.

You can also go horse riding on the beach or you can try parasailing, or you can play some tennis even. If you like sightseeing, you can also visit some of the museums on the islands and why not try some art classes.

#3 Florence, Italy

When it comes to improving one’s mood and feeling happier and more positive, we cannot ignore Italy. This country has so much positive energy in it, that it is impossible not to like it. This is the place to go if you want to experience some Dolce Vita.

We love all Italy, but for this list we have chosen a particular Italian city – Florence. Some people say that Florence is the most beautiful city in Italy and other people say that this is the most beautiful city they have ever visited. In other words, it is almost 100% sure that you will like it as well if you have not been there.

Florence’s cute narrow streets and great historical buildings will make you feel as if you are in some other world where you will no longer be sad. And while you are there, do not forget to enjoy the traditional Italian cuisine and their absolutely delicious ice-cream.

#4 Machu Picchu, Peru

Another way a person can escape bad mood and begin to appreciate life again is when they remind themselves of the powerful human spirit and the progress of mankind. One of the things that can remind people of the things they are capable of is Machu Picchu. This, as you probably know, is the lost city of the Incas.

If you decide to visit it, you will see how people centuries ago built their homes. You will also learn about their culture and you will get in touch with their spirit. And not only this, but you will also see some breathtaking views up in the mountains. And this is when you can realize the strength of the humankind.
