How to Best Use Your Makeup Brushes

When you watch professional makeup artists apply makeup, it almost looks like a piece of cake. And when you decide to do it, there is just something wrong. You either do not use the right colors, or do not apply them on the best places, or do not use the right brushes.

The truth is that you can become masters when applying makeup with a lot of practice. However, the brushes are quite important as well. If you want to create the perfect makeup, you are not going to do it with only one makeup brush. And if you have some problem with determining which brushes to use and how to use them, here is a little guide that will help you deal with this task.

#1 Foundation brush

You should begin applying your makeup from the base. In other words, you need to make your face tan flawless and then to move on to the other makeup products. For the foundation you need a long flat brush. It would be the best one to apply the foundation.

You need also need to learn where to apply the foundation first. It should be on the t-zone, then under the eyes, on the forehead and on the chin. And when this is settled, you can move on to applying the foundation on your cheeks.

Some women also use beauty blenders to apply the foundation better, with no traces of fingers or the bristles of the brush. You should also do not forget to apply the foundation on your jawline and on your ears a little.

#2 Concealer brush

When you are finished with the foundation, you need to apply concealer under your eyes to hide any darkness. You will need, except from liquid concealer, a concealer brush which is a thin one with short bristles and a rounded shape.

Apply the concealer under your eyes with the concealer brush, but not forming semi-circle, but a triangle. This way you will be able to hide your dark circles better.

#3 Contour brush

If you want to contour your face, which has become quite popular nowadays, because it exaggerates the bone structure of the face, you need a contour brush. There are also fan brushes which will do the job, but the important thing is to choose a flat brush. This way you will be able to create the right kind of contour. Or you can use slightly rounded brush if you do not have a flat one.

#4 Eyeshadow brush

There are a lot of eyeshadow brushes, but the most popular one is the one which does not have bristles, but it is made of small sponge. However, if you want to create the perfect eye makeup, it is needless to say that you will do it only with this kind of brush.

The brush that will save your life in applying eye makeup is a blending brush. There are a few kinds of blending brushes, like a large, a medium, small, and angled one. At first you may use a small or a medium one, just to get used to the technique. Later, when you become proficient, you may get all kinds of blending brushes and create magic.

#5 Powder brush

There are so many different kinds of powders that you may be quite confused in what occasion which powder to use. The good thing is that there are not as many powder brushes. The typical powder brush is a big one with a lot of bristles and a rounded shape, which is easily used to apply the powder on your face.
