How To Create a Drinking Water Habit

At the beginning of this article, I will remind you that it is extremely important to drink water. Why is that?

  • If you drink enough water, you will help the body to maintain the balance of its fluids. It is a well known fact that the body is composed of 60% water. So, it is quite logical that your water body will need fuel to function properly. The fuel for your body is the water.
  • For the girls with weight problems, you should know that water will help you to control the calories. It is quite simple to do that: whenever you are thirsty, drink water instead of soda or some other caloric drinks.
  • Water will help you recover your body from high intensive physical activities.
  • The water is the magical elixir for your flawless skin. If you are dehydrated, your skin will become dry and fragile, which means that the wrinkles will have a party right on your face.
  • The main remedy against kidney stones is drinking a lot of mineral and spring water.

Some people can’t force themselves to drink enough water. But first, how many is enough? The average person must take 6 to 8 glasses of water per day. But if you drink more, there is no harm in that, be calm. If you drink less than 6 glasses of water per day, your job is to drink one more glass for at least two weeks. Then you will be able to drink one more and that routine must continue until you reach at least 8 glasses per day. In order to help you do that, I will show you several tricks for you, which will help you learn to drink more water in order to feel better, look better and be healthier. Take a look at my tips:

It is all about the taste

For instance, I drink no less than 8 glasses per day (sometimes even more), but I really like the taste of the water. On the other hand, there are people who don’t like the taste of the water. That’s my first advice, add your favorite flavor to the water as long as it is sugar free. Good way to go is to flavor the water with fruits – orange, lemon, all kinds of berries, not only fruits can flavor your water, there is also a mint or other favorite herbs. Let the water sit with the ingredients for a few hours in your fridge, then pour it into a 500 ml bottle and put it in your bag. I’m sure that this bottle will make a difference.

Food that requires water

Spicy and salty foods will make you want to drink water in order to extinguish the fire in your mouth and belly. Try hot peppers in your meal, it is studied that this vegetable boost up your metabolism. What a great combination – boosted up metabolism and body full of water.

Use a reminder

Your phone can play so many important roles in your life that you can’t even imagine. You can download an app, which will track your daily intake of water and remind you to drink when it has been a while since your last glass of water. But if you don’t want to download an app,  you can always set a few alarms on your phone. This will be also a 1 minute break off your laptop, which will work as a small rest for your eyes and some healthy movements for your body.

Your water bottle must be in the same priority place as your phone

There is a simple trick to teach  yourself to  bring water with you: buy a pack of water bottles of 500 ml when you shop. Then store them in the fridge and you will always have a bottle ready for you to grab it when you leave the house.

Save calories and cash at the same time

When you eat at a restaurant order only water. Skip the wine, because it will bring you calories too. Also, you can ask for tap water, because the restaurants are obligated to install a filtration system anyway and this way you won’t be charged for bottled water. That’s how you will save money because of a healthy lifestyle.

Choose the foods that will put water in your belly

There are a lot of foods that are rich in water and you can choose to eat them as a snack instead of chips or chocolate bar, such foods are: cucumbers, celery, melons, soups, oranges, apples, etc.

Create a proper motivation for drinking water

If you have some hard time losing weight, you should know that drinking one 500 ml water bottle will help you lose weight faster. I hope that this will be a good enough motivation to make you drink more water.

Keep a glass of water on your night stand

We all know that the bedtime is extended because of reading, checking email or just browsing the internet before you fall asleep (it is extremely unhealthy and bad  for you sleep to use your phone before falling asleep) and while doing that, you might get thirsty, but you are already asleep, which means that you won’t get up and pour a glass of water. That’s why you should predict that and put a glass of water next to you, on your night stand. Drinking water before sleep will help you stay hydrated during the night.
