There are a lot of methods when it comes to removing hair from your body, but these are mainly the ones which concern parts of the body, like legs, arms, armpits, and so on, There is shaving, waxing, laser therapy, or using an epilator. But when we talk about removing hairs from one’s eyebrows, the first thing that pops up in one’s mind are the tweezers. Methods, like shaving or using lasers, are definitely something that it is not recommended to use on your brows. But there is still one method for removing hairs from your brows, which is not that popular, but it could be even better than the traditional tweezers method. And this is to use thread to shape your brows.
What is good about the thread method?
The best thing about this method is that it is fast and it is less painful than the tweezers method. And if your skin usually turns red after plucking your hairs, this time it won’t. There are even some women, who find it so painful to wax their brows that they avoid doing this, and hide their brows under nice, thick bangs. I know it sounds a little strange, but this is the truth.
Soothe the pain with some ice
If you find it too painful to pluck hairs, just use some ice. If your skin is too sensitive, you may use a couple of ice cubes and rub them into your skin. The cold ice will cool down your skin and will soothe the pain. It will more or less make your skin insensitive and this way you will be able to remove hairs easily and without fear of possible pain. The other good thing about using thread to remove hairs is that since it is not going to be so painful, you will not need ice to ease the pain, which again could be a problem with some women.
No tweezers? No problem!
Another advantage of this method is that sometimes women forget their tweezers somewhere or lose them. If you are moving for example, or if you are on vacation, you may not have tweezers, but threads you will be able to find, even if you have to ask a couple of neighbors, or to get some from an old piece of clothing. But enough talking about all the advantages of using thread instead of tweezers, because it is time to see how the method works.
How to do it
After you have learned about all the advantages of using thread instead of tweezers, here is how to do it. You will need only thread – about 45 centimeters will be just fine to help you shape your brows the way you want.
Then tie together the two ends of this piece of thread to form something like a circle. You should leave about a centimeter between the very tips of the ends of the thread and the knot that you made when you tied them together. It should be just the way it is shown in the picture.
Then the base of your hair removing tool is ready. Now you can move on to the next step. Take the thread with both your hands, using your index fingers and your thumbs. Hold the thread forming a rectangular shape with your fingers.
Then start spinning it round. It should take you about 6 to 7 spins of the thread, but make sure that the knot that you are creating is right in the center of the thread. Look at the picture to help you understand better what is going on.
Stretch it between your hands. And this way you will form two triangular shapes out of the first rectangular one. The length of the space between the two triangles should be about 2.5 cm. This is also the length of the knots you made by turning it round and round.
Holding the thread in the same places, practice a few times stretching and folding your fingers. In other words, use them as scissors, but do not do it all at once. First, stretch your left hand, then fold is and stretch your left one. Repeat several times.
Then you are ready to remove the hairs. The pictures will show you which direction to go when removing hairs from different places of your face, (and this includes your upper lip area, as it is shown in the picture). The hairs will be caught between the knots of the thread in no time, but when you do this, make sure that the thread touches the hairs. And again fold and stretch your fingers the way you practiced it.
And you are done!
