A lot of people think eating pasta is not good for their figure since it helps you gain weight. Well, this is not exactly true because a person could easily satisfy their hunger with less than 100g of pasta. And if we add the fact that pasta is quite delicious no matter whether you do a vegetarian one, or you add meat, or even some seafood. There are a lot of pasta recipes to try, but today we are going to give you 2 delicious pasta recipes – chicken and vegetarian one.
Chicken and garlic pasta
3 cups of cooked pasta
2 chicken breasts
2 tablespoons of garlic
¾ cup of heavy cream
½ cup of grated parmesan
¼ cup of pesto
¼ cup of tomatoes (cherry tomatoes)
½ tablespoon of salt
½ tablespoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of olive oil or cooking oil
First you need to cook the pasta. What you need to do is follow the directions on the package – boil it in salted water. You are going to need 3 cups of cooked pasta, so the uncooked one you need to prepare is about half the amount of the cooked, meaning you are going to need about 1 ½ cups of uncooked pasta. When it is ready, put it aside to make the sauce.
Get a skillet and heat the cooking oil in it. Then cut the chicken breasts into pieces big enough for a couple of bites and add them to the skillet.
Then add the garlic, the salt, and the pepper into the skillet and mix all the ingredients well. Leave them for a couple of minutes this way before you add the rest of the ingredients.
Now add the heavy cream, the parmesan, and the pesto and stir well. Leave the mixture for a couple of minutes before you add the pasta and the cherry tomatoes. Stir everything well again. You can taste it to see if everything is cooked and then remove the skillet from the hot plate.
Serve while it is still hot. You can garnish the pasta with some more parmesan and some parsley if you like.
Vegetarian pasta salad
The second recipe for today is quite interesting, because you can serve it both as a starter and as main course. Here is how to do it.
1 package of cooked pasta
2 grated carrots
1 red pepper, sliced
1 yellow pepper, sliced
1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
some green onion
For the sauce:
½ cup of peanut butter
¼ cup of soy sauce
¼ cup of rice vinegar
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
2 tablespoons of sriracha (or you can just use chili sauce)
¼ cup of water
1 tablespoon of minced ginger
3 cloves of minced garlic
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Get a container and mix in it all the sauce ingredients. Make sure you add them one by one and stir carefully meanwhile. Once you do it, the mixture you will have should be not very thick and orange.
Cook the pasta as it is shown on the package. When it is ready, remove it from the water and put it in a container. Add the yellow pepper, the cucumber, the red pepper, the carrots, and the green onion and then add the sauce. Mix all the ingredients carefully. If you want you can serve it while it is still warm, or you can put the pasta in the fridge for an hour to cool down and serve it cool.
