Face it: updos are basic. But there are days when you don’t want to wash or you just don’t want to do anything special to your hair, so some dry shampoo or a top knot or low bun seems like the obvious choice. If you are looking for a great way to style your second day hair, then consider this lovely updo with a braid! Even for those of us without mad hair skills can make this updo look absolutely gorgeous with minimum effort! Now let’s get started.
Step 1: Separate a medium strand of hair from the bottom right. Then, gather the rest of your hair into a high ponytail and secure with a rubber band.
Step 2: Divide your ponytail into two sections and twist them around. Then, secure the twist at the end with a clear rubber band. Next up, braid the loose section you left at the back into the traditional three-strand method. Divide hair into three equal sections. Hold right section in right hand, left section in left hand, and middle section between thumb and another finger of either hand. To begin braid, cross right section over middle section, then repeat this move with left section, smoothing hair down as you go.
Step 3: Wrap the ponytail twist around itself and coil it into a bun. Use a bobby pin to secure the bun.
Step 4: Gently pull the edges of the braid to make it wide and flat.
Step 5: Grab the braid and lay it against your head. Then, pin it in place under the bun with a few bobby pins.
Step 6: Apply some hairspray all over to wrap up the final look. If you are going to a fancy event or you just want to spice up the look, add some pearl bobby pins on the side.
