It may stun you to know that decorating your nails is not something that is recent; it has been going on for thousands of years. From various butterfly looks, water marble and sponging techniques to sparkling glitter styles, the possibilities are endless. Instead of applying regular nail polish, let’s try something new and creative! Like a snowflake, every water marble manicure is different. Now is the time to try a totally different nail technique that gives your nails a purple and marbled effect.
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is stick a small piece of tape in the centre, horizontally onto your nail. Do not remove this piece of tape yet.
Step 2: Apply a base of nude nail polish on all of your nails to give a nice shine and a smooth surface for the nail art. Grab a base coat that is a good quality and apply it on your nails. Using even strokes, paint every nail from the cuticle edge to the tip. Base coats not only extend the life of your manicure, but also prevent dark colours from staining your nail beds. Allow enough time for the layer to dry completely.
Step 3: In a glass bowl filled with warm water, hold the wands of different shades of purple nail polish over the water surface and wait until a drop falls inside. In a few seconds the colours will spread out across the water.
Step 4: Pick the area where the best break of polish has formed and carefully lower your nail until you have covered it with coloured water. Hold it there long enough for the nail polish to stick.
Step 5: Clean up any imperfections around the nail. With a brush and acetone, gently remove the nail polish surrounding the finger.
Step 6: Now it is time to remove the little piece of tape from your nail.
Step 7: Now you have a nude part of your nail that you can decorate according to your preference. You may add tiny dots across or leave it as it is.
Step 8: Lastly, add a top coat and you are ready! Do not forget that it’s especially important to use a high-quality, long-lasting formula.
