Sun, sea and pool can wreak havoc on your hair but here’s you can stay looking gorgeous on your travels. Holidays are for many the most eagerly anticipated time of the year – but despite the promise of sun, sea and relaxation, holiday prep can be fraught with dilemmas. Wave farewell to wind-whipped beach frizz and chlorine-shredded horror locks.

Step 1: Divide your hair into two big sections, parting it from the middle towards the nape of your neck. Do not worry if the parting is not perfect, your hair will be braided into a bun so the parting won’t be visible!

Step 2: Working with the two big sections, secure each one individually with a clear rubber band. Make sure the ponytails are relatively high as it will be easier for you to secure them towards your head later on.

Step 3: Make an inverted ponytail. Using a couple of fingers, create a space in the hair just above the rubber band. For best results, try to make the hole as close to the elastic band as possible. Now, pull the ponytail all the way through the hole. Slide up the hair band to tighten for a strong hold.

Step 4: Braid the two inverted ponytails into French braids.

Step 5: Grab your braid and roll it up to form a beautiful bun. For best results, start with a small circle and keep wrapping the braid around it. Next, use bobby pins to secure the braid in place. If you have heavier hair, you may need to use more pins to keep the braid from falling down.

Step 6: Take the final braid and secure it into a bun as well. Slide bobby pins into the bun to secure it in place. Mist the finished look with a medium-hold hairspray to set it
