What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you think about desserts? Sweet? Rich? Gaining weight? Or a lot of calories? Yes, these are probably some of the first thoughts that come to a person’s mind when they think about desserts. If you are watching your weight, you probably avoid food that has sugar in it. So, you often skin dessert. Well, here is a little surprise for you. We have prepared for you 2 delicious dessert recipes that are actually healthy, so you can try them and still do not mess with your weight or health.
Who does not like strawberries? This recipe does not only sound delicious, but it is actually delicious. The cupcakes also look good, which means that you can impress your guests. And on top of that it is very easy to execute.
1 ½ cups washed and sliced strawberries. They should be fresh
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon of sweetener (calorie-free one)
1 cup orange juice (you can add some lemon juice if you like it to the orange one)
¼ teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract
6 dessert shells
Mix the sweetener and the cornstarch in a small container and while stirring add the orange juice. Then cook it for about a couple of minutes while constantly stirring. You will notice the mixture is ready when it turns into a paste with small bubbles. Then remove from the heat and add the vanilla/almond extract. Then just let it cool down.
When the mixture has cooled down a little, mix it with the strawberries in a container. Make sure that the products are mixed well. Then put it in a fridge for 30 minutes and it is ready. Serve the dessert in small blows or dessert shells.
Last-minute tropical dessert
Sometime, when we have guests we did not expect, we have to think of some kind of treat fast. And if you have frozen fruits in your freezer, you can easily make thisfast dessert, which is also very healthy, so your guests will be thrilled to taste it.
1 package (2 ½ cups) of frozen mango fruit (you can try it with other products as well)
1 cup pineapple chunks
1 carton yogurt (you can have it with lemon flavor, but a regular low-fat one would do the job as well)
First, you need to remove the fruits from the freezer and leave them in the fringe to defreeze for about 10 minutes. This is the fastest way to do it.
Then get the fruits out of the fridge and mix all the ingredients, including the yogurt in a food processor, until you have a nice smooth mixture. If you do not have a food processor you can still try it, but you have to chop the fruits in very small pieces, so when you mix it with the yogurt to have a smooth mixture.
The dessert can be served immediately. You can also decorate it with some chocolate you shred on the dessert.
