Chocolate is one of the sweetest delights ever invented. Ever since cocoa came to Europe, people started consuming chocolate. At first, hot chocolate was the one to take over the market before people invented the chocolate bars that we know today. There are still people who prefer to drink hot chocolate than eat hard one. Nowadays it is quite easy to try different hot chocolate recipes because a lot of places serve them. Today we are going to show you how to prepare some hot chocolate yourself. #1 Parisian Hot Chocolate
½ liter of milk
100 grams of dark chocolate
1 tablespoon of pure cocoa powder
2 cinnamon sticks
a couple of drops of vanilla essence
1 pinch of sugar
1 pinch of salt
First you need to get a deep pan and pour the milk in it. And since we are going to prepare some hot chocolate you need to heat it on the hot plate. Then put the two cinnamon sticks in the pan and add the drops of vanilla essence. Whisk the ingredients a little.
After that you need to leave the milk for some time to heat up. When small bubbles appear on the surface, whisk the milk a little. Then wait for some more time and when the milk starts steaming.
Remove the cinnamon sticks from the pan and then add the pure cocoa powder and whisk the mixture one more time. This time, however, you need to whisk the mixture more until the cocoa powder dissolves completely and turn the white milk into brown one. After that you need to add the pinches of salt and sugar and whisk the mixture one more time.
Bring the mixture to boil and then add the dark chocolate into the pan. And then simply start stirring the mixture until the chocolate melts completely and makes the mixture even more dark brown. Stir it for a couple of minutes more and then take the pan off the hot plate.
And voila, the hot chocolate is ready! You may wait for it to cool down a little and then enjoy a cup or two of it. You can have it with a couple of biscuits as well.
#2 Thick hot chocolate
There are people who are not big fans of hot chocolate because they do not like drinking it. They prefer to eat chocolate so they can enjoy the taste of it for some more time. And if you are one of these people, then this recipes is the one for you.
We are going to show you how to cook thick hot chocolate which would rather look like some cream instead of liquid. This way you could have it with spoon and enjoy it for a bit longer.
8 ounces of dark chocolate
1 ½ cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
½ teaspoon of coffee espresso powder
First you need to crush the dark chocolate into smaller pieces. This way it would be easier and faster to melt it down completely when you heat it up.
Then you need to get a deep pan and put it on the hot plate at medium heat. Pour the heavy cream into the pan first and then the milk and whisk them together. Then add the sugar and the espresso and stir the mixture once again.
After that you need to switch the temperature at low heat. Add the dark chocolate which you have crushed into smaller pieces. Then you need to stir the mixture until the chocolate melts completely.
In a couple of minutes you will have brown relatively thick mixture. This will be the sign to take the pan off the hot plate. And the hot chocolate is ready. You can serve it with a couple of marshmallow pieces, or whipped cream if you prefer. We recommend sharing the beverage with a friend or a person you love.
