Braided ponytails can be worn with anything. You can wear them to formal engagements, like your friend’s wedding, or to your laid back weekend outings, like your neighbour’s barbeque. It’s an ‘old school’ hairstyle that the beauty bloggers love, so it’s safe to say it is back with a bang this season. It may look like you’ll get your fingers in a twist, but don’t worry, follow these step-by-steps and say hello to your new go-to ‘do. It’s an amazing way to spice up any ordinary ponytail look!
Before getting too excited that the look is super easy to recreate, make sure you follow the steps precisely. This will ensure that you end up with a fabulous braided ponytail in no time!
Step 1: Gather all of your hair at the back and divide a medium section from the top on your right-hand side. Start braiding this section into a Dutch braid, carefully incorporating new hair pieces as you go. To do this, divide your hair into three strands. Then, cross the right strand under the centre strand and then cross the left strand under the centre strand. After one stitch, begin incorporating new hair pieces into the braid. Following the same technique, continue braiding and adding more hair to your braid by picking up small strands every time you cross each section.
Step 2: Take a small rubber band and secure the braid. As you can see, you don’t braid the entire section of hair for this particular tutorial.
Step 3: Do the same on the left-hand side, creating a similar sized braid.
Step 4: Gather all of your hair together with the two braids into a high ponytail. For this purpose, make sure you use high quality bobby pins only to ensure that the ponytail won’t fall down as soon as you leave the house.
