Busy weeks full of cramming for finals, holiday parties, and making last-minute winter break plans can lead to snooze button abuse and no time for hair washing and blow drying. Skipping shampoo a few times a week leads to healthier strands, but it can also leave your hair looking a little flat or greasy after a day or two. Enters the bun! It is a super pretty way to disguise day-old hair, and it is ridiculously easy to recreate. This is probably the easiest way to make a pretty bun in just 4 steps! Simply scroll down and see for yourself!
For this tutorial, you will need a clear rubber band, a brush and a hairspray. It is optional if you want to add a hair accessory to your messy bun.
Step 1: Before everything else, you need to add volume to your hair. Select what part of your hair needs more volume and hold it straight upward. Place your comb in the roots and apply firm brush strokes downward to the scalp. Use hairspray to secure the volume. Repeat the procedure with the next small sections of hair. When you are done, gently brush your hair to ensure there are no bumps or uneven layers.
Step 2: Then, gather all your hair into a high ponytail and secure with a clear rubber band. If you have bangs, you can leave them hanging loosely or pin them in place using a bobby pin.
Step 3: Hold your ponytail and start twisting it around itself. While holding your twist with one hand, use the other hand to gently loosen the hair pieces and make the ponytail with more added volume.
Step 5: Now, carefully wrap the twist around and coil it into a pretty bun. When you are satisfied with the final result, add pins on the sides to make the bun more stable. If you want to achieve more casual look, pull out some loose strands in front of your face. The only thing left is to add a quick blast of hairspray and your lovely bun is ready! You may wish to place a nice hair accessory to give your hair a more elegant look.
