Looking for a graphic eye look to rock this summer? This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to apply an arrow wing with ease. It will definitely become one of your favourite looks of all times! By the end of this tutorial, you will understand why makeup artists are so obsessed with this graphic look!
Preparation: To prepare your skin for the makeup application, it is very important to apply primer first. Even though you want the primer to cover your eyelid completely, your best bet is to use a very small amount of it and gently dab it on your eyelid with a foundation brush. Wait a couple of minutes until the primer absorbs completely. Then, dot on a creamy foundation that matches your skin tone and type. This way you will create a smooth and soft base for your makeup.
Then, brighten up the eyes by applying a nude eyeshadow over the eyelid, starting from the corners and working your way inwards. For best results, use brownish or golden shades to make the whole makeup deeper and more dramatic.
Here is a helpful trick: To achieve the perfect edge of your eyeliner later on, place a small piece of tape underneath your bottom lashes, starting at the outer corner of your eye and angling it towards your temple. The piece of tape will act as guidance for achieving a clean finish of the graphic arrow liner effect.
Step 1: Grab your liquid black eyeliner and apply short stokes to outline your upper lash line. When drawing the bold line along the tape, make sure the liner gets thinner as you finish it off at the end.
Step 2: Then, draw the eyeliner along the lash line. Start from the inner corner of the eye and continue your way down to the edge.
Step 3: Use a finer brush and draw an arrow which starts from the middle of your eyebrow and finishes down to the wing tip. If your hand feels unsteady, rest your pinky finger on your cheek for extra stability.
Step 4: Gently remove the piece of tape and proudly reveal your graphic eye look. If you want to enhance the final look, add a small amount of white shadow on the inner corner of your eyelids. This way you will add a bit of light to your eyes and make them stand out. Finally, apply black mascara on both your top and bottom lashes to achieve more natural, glamorous look.
