Israel is such an interesting country that may not be as old as some of the European countries or some of the other Asian countries, but it has so many things that are worth visiting that a person would hardly have enough time to visit them all. Or at least to visit them all for a week, or even a month. Today we have decided to make a list of some of the best things to see and do in Israel. You can be sure that the experiences are ones in a lifetime.
#1 Visit the Old City of Jerusalem
If you ask every single person that has visited Israel, they would tell you that no matter what else you do and visit in the country, you should not miss to see the Old City of Jerusalem. This is not only the most popular city in Israel, but it has a huge religious significance.
Some of the things you really must see if you go there are the Tower of David, the Western Wall, the Jewish and Christian quarters, and many others. Each of them have huge historical and cultural significance, not to mention that they are breathtaking.
#2 Have a swim in the Dead Sea
There is hardly any person who has not heard of the famous Dead Sea. The interesting about it is that the water is so salted that when you swim there you simply cannot dive or swim underwater, because the salted water keeps you on the surface. A lot of people joke about reading a newspaper while floating in the water. And still you need to be prepared for a shower when you go out of the water since your body will be almost entirely covered in salt.
#3 Carmel market, Tel Aviv
Another interesting place to visit in Israel is the Carmel market in the capital city, Tel Aviv. This is an interesting place that offers you a lot of things to buy, but not only this. The market shows you a piece of the real Israel. It is full of people and who search for some really good bargains. In fact, you can practice your bargaining skills there. The large number of street stalls and colors will make you feel like you are in an amazing new world.

And since we are talking about interesting places to visit in Tel Aviv, you should definitely not miss to have a tour around Old Jaffa. This is part of the city, but it is so different from the rest of the things you can see there that it makes one feel like they are in another place. The alleys are narrow and one has the feeling that they are walking in some kind of a fairytale. And this is not the only thing worth visiting there. The overall atmosphere is amazing and the place has an incredible view of the sea.
#5 Visit Yad Vashem
Israel’s history may be a new one, but it is connected to a lot of dreadful events that took place during the Second World War – the Holocaust. And Israel will not allow its victims to be forgotten. Yad Vashem is the largest Holocaust museum in the world. However, this is not only a memorial of the past. It is also a symbol of Israeli culture and their strength to build their nation after such terrible experiences.
#6 The Baha’i Gardens, Haifa
If you get tired of visiting historical sights, you can always take some time off and enjoy the beautiful sight of the Baha’i Gardens. This is probably one of the loveliest places to visit in Israel. The greenery and the lively colors are in such a contrast with the urban building of the city that it makes the view even more breathtaking.
