December is a lot of people’s favorite month because of the Christmas holidays. However, this time of the year does not only bring a lot of good memories and festive mood, but it also could have some bad effects on one’s figure.

We all know that when the holidays come, people meet often for lunch and dinner parties and as a result they may gain quite a lot of weight. #1 Have small portions

During the holidays it is easy to be tempted and to want to try every type of food it is on the table. #2 Do not allow people to make you eat more

If you have an arrangement with a person for dinner, or lunch, make sure you arrive hungry there. Otherwise if you are not hungry, you may still have to have something due to curtesy and not to offend the host. And as a result you will take additional food and calories that you actually do not need. And this is one of the main things that leads to overeating and gaining weight. #3 Do not be afraid to refuse food

The next thing you should have in mind when the holidays come is stopping at the right time. A lot of people continue eating different dishes, even if they are already full, because they feel bad if they have to refuse the host of the party. And that is why you do not have to be worried if you refuse the host to have some more food. Just complement the food and the way it was prepared and excuse yourself. The host will surely not take any offence in this way. And it is better to know your limits and to stop eating when you are not hungry even if other people are encouraging you to continue eating.

It is important not to be in a rush and to enjoy every bite you have. Eating slowly is one of your best friends when it comes to not overeating during the holidays.
